So the car service guy goes down the side street and stops where I tell him I'm parked. I open the door to get out and he tells me I have to sign for the ride. I lean over the center console to sign, but he tells me to close the door so he can pull up a little further towards the curb. I'm a little annoyed because it should only take 3 seconds for me to sign, but I don't say anything. I close the door and he pulls up and over.
I sign the form and again begin to open the door. He now says I have to initial in 2 places. I'm even more annoyed, but lean over again to sign the form and in doing so the door closes again. I put down my initials where he indicates and ask him if there's anything else. He looks the form over and says "No, I think we're good." So I now I again go to open the door and all of sudden 'WHAM' a car comes speeding by and slams into it.
I'm stunned because that very easily could have been me. The lady driving the other car jumps out of her car yelling and cursing about why didn't I look before opening the door. The driver is freaking out because the door looks all banged up. I'm just standing there shocked. While the driver tries to get the door to close (which it eventually did, although part of it was kinda sticking out) the lady picks up her mirror and looks at the huge gash down the side of her car.
I start to apologize to the driver and he cuts me off saying that he should have checked to see if any cars were coming. I take that as an admission of his fault in all of this and feel exonerated....so I jumped in my car and got the hell out of there. I figured I'd been through enough for 1 day
